Our Family Story

What motivates us to move forward...

Our family story begins with our wonderful marriage in June 2011.  Though we married a little later than many young couples (Steve was 25 and Tamra was 27), we were eager to lean on each other as we began to tackle life's challenges. I was going to school at the time while also working for a company in Tucson, while Tamra taught at the local cosmetology school. We did not have much, but we were happy and had a great deal of love and support from family, friends, and each other.

Shortly afterwards we were blessed with a wonderful young son, who was born in June 2012. This is our wonderful Craig. The pregnancy went as well as any pregnancy and we were extremely excited! When the time came for Craig to be born, Tamra underwent several hours of labor. Poor Craig was not able to come out normally, and an emergency cesarean section was performed. With a great doctor, Craig was born unharmed and Tamra was okay! It was a beautiful start to our family!

Craig grew and has continued to grow into a healthy and lovable young boy, but it did not take long after his birth that we began to notice that things were not exactly normal for Tamra. Though we both felt the desire and the prompting that it was time to grow our family, we found that Tamra's body had changed since Craig's birth and we were unable to get pregnant again. We sought the help from professionals and underwent various medications and treatments for almost 3 years. The result was a lot of emotional stress and anxiety, but no pregnancy. For Tamra's health and well being we decided to stop those treatments as they were clearly not working.

Since then we have continued to try and add to our family through pregnancy, but it has not worked. It has been over 6 years since Craig was born, and we have decided that after exhausting what possibilities we could to expand our family through pregnancy, the time has come to adopt a new member to our family.

But we cannot do it alone. We have a modest, but comfortable lifestyle. We are not rich, and the enormous adoption costs have nearly pushed us into giving up. But we believe there is another child of God destined to be in our family, and we know that our hearts have a great deal of love left to give that child. And so we sincerely ask for help in expanding our family.
